Ethan, you are a force to be reckoned with, and Tautologic is a formidable vehicle for that force. Well done!

about
First single from Tautologic's 2021 album, Wheels Fall Off.
"Well-arranged funky & jazzy Zappa-esque orchestration punctuated with brass and pop sensibility. The lyrics are relevant. The message is bitingly true." - rockatnight.com
"'That’s What I Hear' is the latest off their upcoming record Wheels Fall Off, and it’s a whole bowl full of goodness. Now, sure, it’s about the crumbling of society at the hands of our government, but it’s also a great example of how you can make a fun song out of something serious. Listen to the interplay of instruments throughout this whole composition-it is very satisfying." - Josh Terzino, music-defined.com
lyrics
That's What I Hear
words/music by Ethan Taylor Sellers
I see a lot of fear and blind frustration
The seers say that the worst is on its way
The paid-off prophets plead appeasement policies
The scene is tragic and the politicians play
That's What I Hear
I hear it was stolen slowly in backroom whispers,
An inside job, the fat men ate their fill
Before we knew it, they'd stripped the cupboards bare
Dine and dash, let the children pay the bill.
That's What I Hear
I see, I fear, I feel, I hear that
It's time, and time is running out
And we all know the status quo won't change itself
Rome's burning, 'cause the fiddler calls the tune
And ancient warnings ring unheeded through the ruins.

"an impressively ambitious example of virtuosic musicianship and deft arrangements navigating myriad sounds and styles without ever losing that essential melodic thread or propulsive rock drive." - Jim DeRogatis, NPR's Sound Opinions

Though only their third studio album release, these veterans have been around for almost fifteen years--and they keep getting better with each release--which is hard to manage since their quality of compositions, performances, and production have always been top notch. A band that really should be heard! wafiii

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper

As a Peter Hammill Fan I can only love this.
Don’t get me wrong, this ain’t just a copy.
The songs are very individual, but they still have that PH Flair. The jazzy inclusions takes it even further away from that, while the vocals brings it back again .
But it all fits very well together.
Great album 👍 Boris Stalf

This might be the least folky of the Wobbler releases and I wasn't sure about it at all.
After a few listens however I'm loving the inventiveness and the endless melodies, all driven along by Kristian Hultgren's wonderful percussive bass. PartTimeZombie
